Couples therapy in Cardiff

Helping couples reconnect, communicate and understand one another.

Relationships can be one of the greatest sources of comfort and connection, but they can also become places where we feel misunderstood, disconnected or stuck in repeating patterns. Couples therapy offers a safe, supportive space to slow those patterns down and understand what's happening beneath them.

Whether you're experiencing ongoing conflict, emotional distance, trust issues or navigating a significant life change, therapy can help you move towards greater understanding, connection and healthier communication.

As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I offer couples therapy in Cardiff and online, using a relational and trauma-informed approach that explores both the challenges you're facing and the emotional needs that shape your relationship.

Couples therapy can help with

  • Communication difficulties and recurring conflict.
  • Emotional distance or feeling disconnected.
  • Rebuilding trust after betrayal.
  • Intimacy and closeness.
  • Parenting and family pressures.
  • Chronic illness or health conditions affecting your relationship.
  • Life transitions, grief or loss.
  • Patterns that leave you feeling stuck or unheard.

You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from couples counselling. Many couples come to therapy because they want to strengthen their relationship and understand one another more deeply.

My approach

I work from an integrative relational framework, recognising that each partner brings their own history, attachment experiences and ways of coping into the relationship. Rather than focusing on blame, we explore the patterns between you and develop new ways of relating with greater empathy, safety and understanding.

Together we may explore attachment, emotional needs, boundaries, conflict, vulnerability and communication in a respectful, collaborative space.

What to expect

The first session is an opportunity to understand what has brought you to therapy, explore your goals as a couple and begin identifying the patterns you would like to change.

I offer face-to-face couples therapy in Cardiff as well as online couples counselling across the UK.

Frequently asked questions

Do you take sides?

No. My role is to support the relationship, not to decide who is right or wrong. Both partners have equal space to be heard.

Can we come if we're considering separating?

Yes. Couples therapy can help you explore whether you want to repair the relationship, gain clarity or navigate separation respectfully.

Is couples therapy confidential?

Yes. I'll explain how confidentiality works within couples therapy during our initial contracting session.
